      I have received a lot of calls about the BACK TO THE FUTURE class I added this year at the Rebel Run. Let me try to explain the situation. First of all, this new class is basically muscle cars designed after the 1970′s muscle cars, like the mustang, camaro, and charger. This class would have their own corral area, south of the main car show area, where the primitive camping is now. The primitive camping would be moved back just a little from where it is now. These newer muscle cars would have to park in that corral area. They do not get judged; they compete  amongst themselves for the top 10 awards for the BACK TO THE FUTURE class. So the older cars are not in competition with them. Whether we want to admit it or not, our generation that love the older cars are dying off, and if we don’t do something about getting the younger generation involved, this sport we all love, will drop off as well.

       I have paid the faigrounds about $200,000 since the first show there in 2000. The price goes up every year and the  participants are in a slow decline. The facts stated above as well as the economy are the 2 main reasons for this. I had 3 options:

#1 raise the entry fee 5 or 10 dollars.

#2 find a new location that I could afford.

# 3 Try and bring in new people to help offset the rising costs.

           I believe the latter is the way to go, especilly if handled correctly. However, I have come under a  wave of criticism. I am trying to do what I have to do to keep the Rebel Run going strong. Most of you have been with us for many years and I want you to know how much we appreciate your support.
